Hoenn, like you never seen before!

Hoenn, a region that consists of a main island that stretches widely from east to west, along with countless small islets that dot the deep blue sea around it. A live volcano steams constantly in the heart of this green-covered island.

Players of the original Pokemon Sapphire and Ruby will appreciate the wonderfully remade Hoenn. The land will be rich of natural beauty, more extraordinary pokemon, and even more interesting people. Explore the living, breathing region in 3D, as introduced in Pokemon X and Y. From your humble beginnings in Littleroot Town to the hidden lands where legendary Pokemon thrive, you'll be able to enjoy what beautiful Hoenn has to offer as your adventure unfolds.

Choose from the old favorites

The beloved starters are now back! Some say that choosing your first Pokemon is almost as important as what version of the game you want to play. Choose whether you want to partner up with Torchic, Mudkip, or Treecko.

A New Story Unfolds

A new story unfolds involving the Hoenn region which was not part of the original Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version. This is called the Delta Episode. This involves the history of the region that takes place around 3,000 years in the past. The story begins with Zinnia, a young woman who bears a certain destiny. The story includes appearances from Team Magma and Team Aqua, Steven, Gym Leader Wallace, and other familiar faces. Don't miss the conflict between Rayquaza and Deoxys!

Get up close and personal with your favorite Pokemon!

Pokemon-Amie, a feature that debuted from Pokemon X and Y returns on Pokemon AS / OR. This feature allows trainers to have close interaction with their Pokemon by petting them and feeding them. As the bond between the trainer and Pokemon deepens, the Pokemon will perform excellently in battle like evading attacks or landing critical hits to opponents.

Pokemon Contest Spectaculars

In the game, you won't just raise your Pokemon for battle. You can join various contests that will measure your Pokemon's overall appeal. There are five contests you can choose to enter: Coolness, Beauty, Cuteness, Cleverness, and Toughness. Aside from considering the appeal where your Pokemon excels at, you can also improve their contest condition by feeding them special snacks called Pokeblocks. These are made by blending berries. The type of Pokeblock you'll make and the attribute they improve will depend on the mixture.

Cosplay Pikachu

After your first contest, you'll get a special Cosplay Pikachu that can wear various costumes. No other Pikachu that you catch or get other than this one can dress up to different costumes. Cosplay Pikachu will be able to use moves that are normally unavailable to a normal Pikachu. These moves depend on the costume it has on.

Super Secret Bases

Super Secret Bases return in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Pokemon Omega Ruby. You can design your own secret base. However, it is not just limited to that! Thanks to the 3DS's communication features, you can connect with other players and share your Secret Bases with one another. You can visit another players Secret Base and find the base members hanging around there. Depending on the base owner's settings, you can talk to the owner's team members or battle them! If you have any base owners you like, you can scout them to become one of your Secret Pals and bring them back to your own base!

Soar the Sky!

This is a brand new feature where players can fly freely in the skies of Hoenn. They need to get the Eon Flute to call on Latios/ Latias. This will make them Mega-Evolve and give you a ride to the sky. You can encounter flying Pokemon in mid-air, and even visit very special locations called Mirage Spots where you can encounter rare Pokemon, valuable items, and even specific legendary Pokemon! Now, you can explore Hoenn from a whole new different perspective!

PokeNav

Exploring Hoenn just got more convenient and interesting with the help of this handy tool. The tool has four invaluable applications: the DexNav, which allows you to Search for Pokemon in a specific area, while giving you access to the hidden Pokemons' information like what abilities and moves it has. The AreaNav is another useful app that will allow you to find Pokemon and Trainers, Secret Bases, and your Berry Trees. You can even check how your Berries are coming along. This in addition to the capability to view each town's establishments and facilities. BuzzNav is an application that will allow you to watch news about the region, in-game TV shows, and news from other players you meet via Streetpass. Finally, PlayNav brings you back the Pokemon X/Y applications PSS, Pokemon-Amie, and Super Training all in one place. How convenient is that?

Horde Trainer Battles

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y introduced Horde Battles where a single Pokemon can encounter a horde of wild Pokemon. Now in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, players will face off multiple trainers at once in a Horde Trainer battle. The level of their Pokemon may be understandably low but remember, there's always strength in numbers!

Special Demo perks and bonuses

If you managed to get a Special Demo code for the game, you can star your next Hoenn region adventure early. The demo features gameplay that you won’t experience anywhere else. You can also bring a specific Pokemon to the full game, as well as the reward items that you acquired during your short demo adventure. Unlike most demos that you can play only for a limited number of times, Pokemon OR/AS's special demo can be played as many times as you like!
