These Pokémon will be distributed to players who insert multi-use serial codes that will be either given away by Pokémon Get☆TV or inside the February issue of CoroCoro. Pokémon Get☆TV announced the serial code for Serperior on December 28, 2014 and the serial code for Emboar on January 11, 2015. The serial code for Samurott was available inside the February issue of CoroCoro. The serial code for Serperior could be used from January 9 to November 30, 2015 and the serial codes for Emboar and Samurott can be used from January 16 to November 30, 2015. The multi-use serial code for Serperior is POKEMON497, the multi-use serial code for Emboar is POKEMON500, and the multi-use serial code for Samurott is POKEMON503.

The Pokémon that was distributed alternated every hour from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, with Charizard being distributed during even numbered hours and Pikachu being distributed during odd numbered hours. These Pokémon were distributed via local wireless at the Pokémon Center Tokyo store in Japan over two different distribution periods. Piplup was distributed on December 6, 2014 and Froakie was distributed on December 7, 2014.
